Curious Questions
(boringly know as FAQs)
A few things we’re asked, and a few we wish someone would.
Even the oddest cabinets collects questions. Some are scribbled on napkins. Some arrive tucked in envelopes with no return address. Some were probably meant for someone else entirely. But we answered anyway.
Our Cabinet collects questions like pressed flowers in a book — delicate, particular, and a little odd around the edges. Some came in through the drawer. Some arrived via typewriter ribbon. Some were scrawled in the margins of old maps.
We’ve tried to answer honestly (and just vaguely enough to keep you wondering).
Q. What exactly is the Curiosity Cabinet Press?
A. We’re a tiny but wildly curious press that publishes poetic, peculiar, and soul-stirring works — books and booklets meant to unlock something in you. We are dedicated to wonder, words, and whispered things. We publish books that don’t fit on tidy shelves. We’re not quite a publisher, not quite a curiosity shop…but something in between.
Q. Where can I buy your books?
A. Right here in the Cabinet. Most titles are available directly on our site (with extras tucked in) or through our Etsy shop or on Amazon. Most titles have their own page on our website with all the ways to bring your treasure home.
Q. Do you offer wholesale or bulk pricing?
A. Absolutely! We love partnering with independent bookstores, museum shops, schools, craft retreats, secret societies, shops that smell like paper and possibility. You can visit our Wholesale Info page or send a message through the drawer, pigeon, or owl (your preference of fowl).
Q. Can I invite you to teach or speak at my event?
A. We love to travel (with vintage suitcases, of course). If you’re hosting a book fair, creative gathering, writers’ circle, convention, or slightly unhinged tea party, let us know. Just send us a note (method of delivery – your choice). Our calendar fills quickly, but we’re always open to strange invitations.
Q. What’s with the keys?
A. Keys open things. That’s all we’ll say.
Q. Who is Professor Thistlegrave? And is Elenore real?
A. He insists he’s not fictional, but his handwriting keeps showing up in the margins. As for Elenore — she doesn’t answer letters (and knows nothing about email). But if you pay attention, they tend to leave clues we can follow.
Q. What’s in the Curiosity Vault?
A. Only those with a Master Key may know. (Hint: It involves bonus content, printable extras, and curious surprises for our most devoted readers.)
Q. Are your Prompt Books journals – or something else entirely?
A. Yes. And yes. They are journals, books, guides, companions, and sometimes invitations. They are filled with prompts, poetic nudges, and gentle provocations designed to get your pen (and your soul) moving. These books are more like secret doors.
Q. Will I like your books if I’m not a writer?
A. Especially if you’re not a writer. These books are for anyone who wonders. Anyone who remembers imaginary friends. Anyone who’s kept something in a box for no good reason.
Q. How do you ship?
A. We offer shipping by Slow But Sure (known as USPS Media Mail), First Class Package (USPS First Class), and by the Fastest Whisper (known as USPS Priority Mail). You decide when you make your purchase.
Q. Do you ship internationally?
A. Yes, we do. Just know that magical objects sometimes take longer to arrive. Customs agents are often curious.
Q. I have more questions…
A. Good! That means you’re one of us. Use the contact form, contact us at keeper@thecuriositycabinetpress.com or leave your name in the drawer. We’re always listening.
